April is upon us, it's time for a spring clean!
For far too long we've put off sorting through the overflowing garage, organising the dreaded man-drawer, or tidying the cupboard of doom which threatens to explode every time we open the doors. We can often feel like that about our day-to-day life, with worries building up and up until they all tumble out.
How great does it feel when we’ve made the time to de-clutter? All that extra space, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing where things are. We can start spending our time and energy on the things that really matter.
God does not clear out cluttered homes, but He can help with our cluttered lives. He encourages us to not lose heart because through Jesus our inner selves can be made new each day.
What an amazing life we can have! A life free of mundane distractions, living for God and Jesus, a life with real meaning.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Each morning is a new day. It's an opportunity to re-focus our minds on what is most important. Jesus taught us to seek first God’s kingdom instead of worrying about all the stuff that weighs us down. God’s kingdom, after all, is about righteousness and peace.
Jesus wants us to live for God’s kingdom now. It can be a struggle as we naturally worry about things, and the world around us is continually putting clutter in our way. So today let's take time to de-clutter our minds and lives, re-focus our energies and prepare ourselves for God's coming kingdom.
